First, let’s talk about traffic real quick. What happens when a visitor comes to your website from the search engines?

For example, you did the work to rank a blog post for a certain keyword, and someone happened to find it from Google. What would happen?

Well… they will properly read your blog post, or skim through it.

Now let’s say you monetize this blog post with a product to purchase, or to join you in your primary opportunity. Stats in this industry prove only a small percentage of people will make a purchase with first time viewing. Maybe 3% conversion rate (and that’s being generous)

Which means 97% of the rest of your traffic will just click away, and not buy.

And here’s some tough love… Even if you have amazing content that people really like, they will still click away… and they won’t come back!

What if you gave them a chance to get a free gift in exchange of a name and email address?

If you can do that, the chances of a sale or sign-up can quickly skyrocket, and this is why email marketing is so powerful?

Sending valuable content through emails can build up that ‘know, like, and trust’ which can cause people to buy from you! So over time, that 3% conversion rate can go up to a massive 25% – 35% or more!

Here’s the fun part…

How Growing Your Email List Is Like Getting A Pay Rise Every Month?

Let’s just say you’re getting 100 visitors a month, and you’re selling a product at $100. Through email marketing you increase your conversion rate from 3% to 15%.

You’ve just given yourself a $1200 a month pay rise!

And don’t forget, using automatic emails you can make sales automatically with an autoresponder.

Now, some of you might be building a list with a Facebook fan page… But guess what? This is NOT an asset!

Don’t get me grow, if you are growing your fans on a Facebook page, keep doing it. This is a good thing to have. However, you don’t truly own your Facebook fans, and even your ‘fans’ on Facebook are NOT your leads.

Now, an email list is an asset.

Let’s just say, Facebook decide you are a spammer, and they don’t like how you market? They can close your page, and there go your leads. But nobody can take your email list away from you!

It’s YOUR asset, and when used correctly a continues source of revenue?

Bottom line… Start building a list, start building it BIG, and start building it NOW!
